Training is delivered via Blended Learning (with face-to-face and distance components)
Course Duration: This course is designed to be completed in up to 78 weeks (including 6-week holiday break).
Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend approximately 1804 hours depending on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.

What will you learn?
This course is designed to develop your expertise in skin therapy. Among others, you will learn to:
- Provide micro-dermabrasion treatments
- Provide skin therapy consultations
- Design intense pulsed light skin treatment programs
- Provide intense pulsed light skin treatments
How is the course structured?
All learners will be assessed through:
- Observation during on-the-job or role play/simulation
- Questioning may include self-assessment, verbal answers, written questionnaires, activity modules or interview
- Structured Activities may include Projects, Case studies, presentations, role play, demonstration, progressive tasks
What are the entry requirements?
Apart from the pre-requisites, CEMO College screens students according to the following criteria:
- Are 18 years of age and over
- Are living or working in Australia
- Are living or working in Australia
- Have successfully completed at least Australian high school year 10, or equivalent
- Have basic computer skills
- Have sound Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills
- Has access to a beauty therapy or skin treatment workplace
*Learners who do not meet the LLN requirements may still enrol into the course provided the enrolment has been endorsed by the trainer and corresponding additional support strategies have been put in place.

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who have achieved all of the following units of competency:
- SHBBFAS005 Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations OR SHBBFAS002 Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations
- SHBBFAS006 Provide specialised facial treatments OR SHBBFAS003 Provide specialised facial treatments
- SHBBINF002 Maintain infection control standards OR HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments
- SHBBSSC001 Incorporate knowledge of skin structure and functions into beauty therapy
- SHBBSSC002 Incorporate knowledge of body structures and functions into beauty therapy
- SHBBSKT003 Identify and control safety risks for light-based skin treatments

- who are able to demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge to each of the above units of competency.

Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) available?
CEMO College has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy, to ensure that an individual’s prior learning, achieved through formal and informal training, work experience or other life experiences, is appropriately recognised. This recognition may assist Learners to progress faster through a unit of competency, or allow the student full credit.
When do I get my certificate?
Once you have successfully completed the training program and been assessed as competent in all course requirements, and provided all obligations with CEMO College—such as outstanding fees—have been settled, your AQF Certificate and Record of Results for SHB60221 Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy will be issued within 30 calendar days by CEMO College.
When do I get my certificate?
Unfortunately, you will not be eligible to receive the AQF Certificate and Record of Results for SHB60221 Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy without being assessed as fully competent in all of its components. However, if you have already been assessed as competent in certain units of competency undertaken as part of SHB60221 Advanced Diploma of Skin Therapy prior to exiting the course , then CEMO College will provide you with a Statement of Attainment as evidence of having completed these units in the process of undertaking the qualification.
